The Senator chair was designed by Ole Wanscher in the 1960s in Denmark. It features a solid teak frame, comfortable upholstered seat, and is celebrated for its refined proportions and elegant construction—qualities typical of Wanscher’s approach to Danish modern design.
Ole Wanscher taught as a professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts from 1955 to 1973, where he greatly influenced generations of designers through his emphasis on quality, function, and refined lines. This teaching role, as Klint’s successor, allowed him to shape Danish design far beyond his own work in furniture.
Extra note about condition: The chair is made of teak wood with original leather upholstery and presents very well overall. It shows light, age-appropriate wear — including minor scratches on the frame and slight rubbing at the top of the armrests — visible on close inspection. The seat is structurally sound and comfortable, with the leather in good condition on all visible areas. This vintage piece retains its character and is ready for everyday use.
