The Ateljee sofa and armchair by the late Yrjö Kukkapuro, introduced in the mid‑1960s, are among his most recognised designs. Their form is based on a lightweight, modular frame that supports the leather cushions, combining clarity of structure with lasting comfort. Versions of the Ateljee sofa are held in the collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and the Museum of Modern Art in New York, reflecting its significance in post‑war furniture design.
These examples retain its original leather upholstery, which shows light wear from careful use and remain in very good condition. The supporting seat straps have been renewed to ensure stable, comfortable sitting while preserving the items' original appearance.
